Therapeutic & Counseling Staff
Therapists and counselors at DCMHS practice as "generalists."
This means that they typically provide services to a broad range of diagnostic
groups and are familiar with the variety of personal issues for which clients
seek help. The training and educational background of our therapists and
counselors include, at a minimum, completion of the
Master's
degree. DCMHS employs 12 full-time counselors across the region, with several
of the counselors working in more than one County. Individual, group, marital,
and family therapy are commonly utilized to help clients attain counseling
goals and objectives. Also, crisis therapists are available 24 hours per
day for emergency intervention and assessments either by phone or in person.
Most of the therapists are certified to provide consultations to the local
hospital medical staff and to consult to regional emergency rooms. Pictured
here are some of the DCMHS therapists at a weekly staff meeting where treatment
planning occurs within a team oriented format.
